March 8, 2021 Meeting (via Zoom)

  • Meeting called to order at 7:15pm

  • Minutes from January 11, 2021 approved

  • Ms. Henry provided the following updates:

    • Discussed school re-opening plan. There will be a cap in every classroom – it’s not a school cap;

    • Reopening plans are posted on the 15th of each month;

    • Senior Day – March 26th – District wide. Seniors across the district will be the only ones attending school that day – all other students will be remote.South has about 127 RSVPs;

    • Regents exams in June – has not been decided;

    • Assessments for 7th and 8th graders will be taking place soon;

    • Information coming soon on AP exams;

    • Pods were created for football;

    • Goal is to have outdoor graduation.We have 202 seniors;

    • Will try to do one Senior event per month

  • Mr. Koskowicz provided the following updates:

    • No fans for indoor sports and away games;

    • Two guests per athlete for outdoor games. Only those two will be permitted for the entire season;

    • Question asked if Parents Club can sell drink/snacks/apparel at outdoor games.Will check with Superintendent;

    • Mr. Stuber is working on purchasing huddle camera – will be used to stream games;

    • Winter season sports run through February;

    • Fall sports will run until 4/22;

    • Modified Spring sports registration begins early April;

    • Physicals from July 2018 or later are acceptable;

    • Planning for Varsity Awards ceremony in early June

  • Senior Advisor Update: 

    • No new updates

  • Membership Update: 48 Families; 18 Faculty members

  • Correspondence Report:  None

  • Treasurer’s Report:  Balance of $3,948.01

  • Apparel updates: None

  • UPCOMING EVENTS/UPDATES:

    • Board of Education meeting tomorrow at 8pm;

    • No progress reports;

    • National Honor Society induction 3/23;

    • District wide College Information Night 3/25;

    • Spring break begins 3/29

  • Jan 11, 2021 Meeting (via Zoom)

  • Meeting called to order at 7:15pm

  • Minutes from November 16, 2020 approved by Jennifer Morton and Kim Wheeler

  • Ms. Henry provided the following updates:

  • Remote learning took effect on Dec 9th because the teachers had to be quarantined.This is expected to happen again after the holiday break;

  • Less children are attending in-person class instruction;

  • Midterm test schedule is going out tomorrow;

  • Regents exams in June – has not been decided;

  • Ms. Henry addressed questions on what the Seniors can/cannot do?Will there be a Valentine’s event? Picnic?Not certain as we have to abide by the protocols on social distancing, etc;

  • Memory project is a great cause – The Parents Club will make a donation;

  • Most Seniors are remote now;

  • All teachers using MS Teams; Required to update parent portal – check gradebook;

  • Next year’s schedules will not be prepared until late Spring;

  • Teachers have right to get vaccinated today, but availability is limited;

  • Guidance counselors will make appointment with each student;

  • Annual Board Tour took place this past Saturday where they walked the building

  • Mr. Koskowicz provided the following updates:

  • Winter season started last week;

  • Family ID is working well;

  • Physicals are being accepted from the past two years;

  • Fall sports are scheduled to begin in March;

  • Moderate to Low-risk sports are Cross Country, Soccer, Volleyball, Tennis;

  • Baseball, Softball, Track/Field, boys Tennis are approved for the Spring;

  • Practice will be 3-4/week; games will be once or twice/week

  • Senior Advisor Update:

  • Membership Update:  None

  • Correspondence Report:  None

  • Treasurer’s Report:  Balance of $3,867.99

  • Apparel updates: None

  • UPCOMING EVENTS/UPDATES:

  • Board of Education meeting tomorrow at 8pm;

  • District wide – 4 years and Beyond will take place on Jan 14th;

  • Closed on Jan 18th for observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day;

  • Marking period ends Jan 29th; Grades posted Feb 5th;

  • Rating Day – Jan 29th – school closed
